Make Your Cream Highlighter At Home
If we say a highlighter is a game changer in makeup, it
won’t be a wrong statement. I personally love highlighter because why not?
Is there anything to hate about it? Naahhhh. Not at all. It
literally makes you feel in heaven.
What a highlighter
actually does?
It was firstly used in
theaters by film actors shooting or performing indoors because there was a lack
of natural light, so they need something to provide definition of facial
features like cheekbones, nose, and jaw line. Since then people got a wind of
it and its sales rose abruptly.
It enhances your facial
features by providing a definition to your cheekbones nose and jaw line.
It’s a game changer for
your eye makeup as it makes your eye look bigger.
Main problems people face
while choosing and applying highlighter:
- As different companies
have introduced their own highlighters but still some people can’t find a true
match for their skin tone. Some highlighters are too shiny and sparkly for them
or some are not as pigmented for them as they want.
- The other main problem is,
they don’t know exactly how to apply a highlighter. As I have already discussed
that it is a game changer but if it is not applied properly, the results will
be awful as it will entirely change your facial features.
I am gonna tell you the
solution of these problems.
You’ll learn:
- How you can make your own
highlighter at home?
- How to apply a highlighter
properly?
I am gonna tell you a
simple way to make your own highlighter at home. It is not a rocket science. It’s
super easy. Everybody can make it at home by using simple things.
Types of Highlighters:
Highlighters are available
in different types
- Powder
- Liquid
- Cream
- Gloss
- Solid stick
- Jelly
I have made a creamy
highlighter and sharing the method with you.
Things you will need:
- Moisturizer of your choice
- Aloe Vera Gel
- Loose pigments (I have
used golden)
or your favorite shimmery eye shadows
- Mixing bowl
- A plastic spoon or spatula
to mix the ingredients
- Empty container
Process:
- Add half tea spoon of
moisturizer into the mixing bowl.
- Add one to two drops of Aloe Vera gel into in.
- Add pigment into it. The
color is completely your choice. Test different colors and select the one that
suits you best. You can also mix different colors.
- I’ve used golden pigment
because I have all other highlighters except golden one.
- You can mix different
pigments to get your desired shade.
- If you are lacking with
loose pigments don’t worry a shimmery eye shadow will work exactly as pigment.
Scratch your favorite eye shadow into the bowl.
- Mix all the ingredients
well.
- There is no specific
quantity of pigment to add. Just add pigments/eye shadows until you get you
desired consistency.
- Once you get your desired
consistency, pour your highlighter into an empty container.
How to apply highlighter
properly?
Once you have prepared
your desired color and consistency of highlighter, now it’s time to apply it.
You just have to take a little amount, almost about a drop of highlighter on
your finger.
Then directly apply it
right onto your cheek bone.
Blend it by gentle tapping
just right on your cheek bone.
Do not rub it.
Apply a little bit on your
nose tip and edge.
Apply it below your eye
brows and inner tip of your eyes.
