Diy Waterproof Gel Eyeliner

DIY Waterproof Organic Gel Eyeliner:

Eye liner was first used in Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia as a dark black line around the eyes. As early as 10,000 BC, Egyptians and Mesopotamians wore various cosmetics including eyeliner not only for aesthetics but to protect the skin from the desert sun. Research has also speculated that eye liner was worn to protect the wearer from the evil eye (Google).

I am a big fan of gel eyeliners. I always tried a lot of methods and did a bunch of experiments to make my own waterproof gel eyeliner. YouTube videos were always my tutors. But unfortunately I failed every time.
I remember once I watched a video and did same procedure as the girl said by adding activated charcoal into oil and aloe Vera gel.
It was a complete wastage of time and money as it was neither waterproof nor a proper gel eyeliner.
It immediately stuck on my upper lid once I opened my eyes after its application.
So I decided to try my own kind of ingredients and way. And this time it was a 100% successful experiment so I am sharing my secret recipe with you people.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 Tsp Coconut Oil
  2. 1½ Tsp of Beeswax
  3. ½ Tsp of Aloe Vera Gel
  4. 1 Kajal/ 3 capsules of Activated Charcoal/black eye shadows
  5. 1 Small Bowl
  6. 1 Large Bowl
  7. Small container
  8. Mixing Tool/Spoon

Procedure:

  1. Add coconut oil, beeswax, aloe Vera gel and kajal into smaller bowl.
  2. Take hot water into larger bowl.
  3. Place smaller bowl in larger bowl and wait for 2 to 3 minutes so that ingredients start getting melt.
  4. The choice of kajal quantity is all yours. It depends how dense black you want your eyeliner should be.
  5. Now take a mixing tool or spoon and mix the ingredients slowly.
  6. Once the ingredients have melted completely mash them with the back of spoon slowly.
  7. Your organic eyeliner is ready.
  8. Pour it into into an empty container.

Benefits

  • 100% Organic
  • Chemical free
  • Waterproof
  • Long lasting
  • Harmless
  • Safe to use
Beeswax is used to make it waterproof and non-sticky. If you don't want waterproof eyeliner then you can simple exempt this step.
You can also change the consistency of your DIY eyeliner by changing the quantity of beeswax.
If it is in liquid form, add more beeswax.
And if your eyeliner becomes too thick to apply then add coconut oil to get your desired consistency.
Coconut oil is good in nourishing eye lashes.

It also boosts eyelash growth.
It helps to remove wrinkles from eyes.

Advantages of Gel Eyeliners:

  • They are easy to apply.
  • They do not smudge over your eyes.
  • They can be drawn in any desired shape without any useless effort.
  • They dry very quickly after application.
  • They are highly waterproof and can’t be washed off with water.
  • They are easy to remove with petroleum jelly or oils. In short you don’t have to put a lot of effort in removing them (except in the case of water).
