How to use Color Correcting Concealers?


Many people are unaware of color correcting concealers. They are only familiar with the simple concealer.

And some are those who are familiar with these rainbow concealers but still don't know how to use them.

Third ones are those who use these concealers but they are not using them in a correct way.
Correctly means, they are not using the perfect color concealer for their skin tone.

Why color correcting concealers are Important?

What normally people do is, whenever the get some acne or have any spot or flaw on their face, they either apply simple concealer or they keep on applying layers and layers of foundation on their flecks.

As a result they get a cakey look with tons of layers of concealer and foundation.

This method is completely wrong. Layers of foundation or a simple concealer is not going to work for all kind of your flaws.

Foundation is designed to give your skin tone a good coverage, not to hide your blemishes or anything similar to it. It will just give your flaw a skin shade but will not hide it completely.

Simple concealer is good for hiding small blemishes or minor flaws.

Color correcting concealers are specifically designed to hide each type of flaw on your face.
There is a different color to hid specific flaws.


What are color correcting concealers?


Color concealers were first used by makeup artists. Later on they become a trend when social media get wind of this idea.

Main purpose:

Color concealers are used to hide blemishes or any kind of flaw on your face.

How they work?

Opposite colors in the pallet cancel each other out.
For instance, green cancels red, yellow cancels purple and vice versa.

Usually there are six colors in a concealer pallet.
  • Lavender
  • Pink
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Orange
  • Peach

Lavender:


For yellow and dull skin tone.
Lavender concealer is best to brighten up yellow skin tone. It neutralizes skins with yellow and dull tone. It also combats with swallow undertones.

Pink:







Pink concealer is used on lighter skin tone.
It covers under eye dark circles and hides brown spots on face. It also covers age and sun spots.

Yellow:


It's a specialist in covering purple spots, veins and bruises.
It hides any blemish that is purple in tone.
Under eye circle ls can also be hidden with yellow concealer.

Green:


Green correcting concealer is for hiding any red spot on your face.
It perfectly hides pimples, acne and any other scar that is red in color.

Orange:


Orange color correcting concealer is especially for those who have dark skin tone.
It covers under eye circles.
Great for medium and dark tones.

Peach:


Peach is only for those who have lighter skin tone.
It covers under eye circles. It's best in cancellation of blue color.

Point to be noted:


Correct concealers for different skin types:
Not all the concealers are suitable for all skin types.
Dark colors like orange, red in the pallet are for those who have dark skin tones.
Light colors like pink and peach are for people with lighter skin tones.

How to apply concealers correctly:

This is the most important step.
  1. Apply the best color for your skin types only on the desired spot of your face.
  2. Like if you've pimple, apply a green concealer right on the spot.
  3. Do not apply the concealer around the pimple.
  4. Once you have applied the color correcting concealer then apply your regular concealer dab it on the spot and also around the spot.

Note:

Use color correcting concealers only when you are in a dire need of using them.
Do not cover your face with unnecessary layers of different products.
If you have minor flaws on your face then you can use simple concealer.
